ROGER R. REUTHER
(1939 - 2006)

Roger R. Reuther, of New Berlin, died at Ruth Hospice on June 10, 2006, after a courageous five-year battle with multiple myeloma.

He was born Feb. 23, 1939, in Manitowoc, son of Mathilda (nee Rauland) and Henry Reuther. Roger married his high school sweetheart, Anne Thiel, on Aug. 26, 1961. Roger graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School in 1957. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial education. He received a Master of Science degree from UW-Stout in 1964. He was employed in the West Allis/West Milwaukee School District for 34 years, first as an industrial arts teacher at John Dewey Jr. High for 11 years, and retired from the district as supervisor of vocational education. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church of West Allis for 44 years. He is survived by his wife and best friend: Anne; son: Chris of Milwaukee; mother-in-law: Carol Thiel, Manitowoc; father-in-law: Lester (Evelyn) Thiel, Two Rivers; brother-in-law: Bill (Carol Binder) Thiel, Janesville; nieces and nephews: Jodie (Dan) Dickson, Oshkosh; Jeri (David) Platta, Fremont; Nadene (Dave) Edland, Chippewa Falls; Craig (Rhonda) Reuther, Manitowoc; Cori (Brad} Fine, De Pere; Mona (Terry) Jacobs, Waterford; and Gloria (the late Rick) Reuther, Omro; former sister-in-law: Joan Reuther, Oshkosh; and Mary (Ron) Balzan, Manitowoc; and special cousins: Mary and Jim Franke. Roger was preceded in death by his father: Henry Reuther: mother and stepfather: Mathilda and Marvin Fehrman: brothers: Roman and Roy; and nephew: Rick.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of West Allis, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society/Milwaukee Chapter, or the International Myeloma Foundation. A memorial service will he held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2006, at First United Methodist Church of West Allis, 1574 S. 76th St., West Allis. Family visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.
