Anita E. Schoenke, age 73, of 3819 Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 11, 2006, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

A memorial service will be held at the Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Richard Runge will officiate.

Anita was born Jan. 28, 1933 in Whitewater, daughter of the late Marvin and Hazel Simonson Nelson. Anita was a member of the Twenty Gardeners Club, and the Rahr-West Art Museum.

Survivors include four children and their families: Linda Noel, Manitowoc and her children, Yvonne (John) Wentker, Whitelaw; Andrea Noel, Manitowoc; Jonathan Noel, Appleton; Ted K. and JoAnne Schoenke, Francis Creek; and their children, Adam (Penny) Schoenke, Menasha; Brian (Angela) Mehlhorn, Manitowoc; Lynne and Steve Kochan, Sheboygan; Lisa and Brad Bergner, Manitowoc, and their children, Alana Bergner and her fiance Michael Schanen, both of Waukesha; Carisa Bergner, Milwaukee; four great-grandchildren: Caleb, Brock, Mason, and Mallory; friend and ex-husband: Ted Schoenke, Manitowoc; one sister: Josephine Gerke, Whitewater; one brother: Lowell Nelson, Florida. Anita was preceded in death by her parents, and one son-in-law: Duane Noel.

Relatives and friends may call at the Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory, Manitowoc on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 from I p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.
