Arbor attended the Pleasant View School - north of Nelson. He was united in marriage to Helene Goodrich on December 16, 1914, at Nelson. To this union four children were born. Arbor and Helene lived in Nuckolls County most of their lives. They farmed for many years, then moved into their home in Nelson. Arbor's wife, Helene, passed away in May of 1964. He had spent the last five years at the Bethesda Care Center in Edgar. He was a member of the Nelson Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helene; one son, Loren; five brothers and four sisters. The survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Shirley) Peterson of Hastings, Nebraska; a son, Gene B. and wife, Violet, Ferebee of Oak, Nebraska; a son, James, and wife, Marian, Ferebee of Nelson, Nebraska; a sister, Mrs. Ada Willoughby, age 102, of Sacramento California) (sic) a daughter-in-law, Vivian Ferebee, of Post Falls, Idaho; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 1, 1984, at 10:30 a.m. from the United Methodist Church in Nelson with Rev. Paul Samuelson officiating. Music was provided by JoAnette Kubicek, Diane Collins and Rhea Kulek singing "Abide With Me" and "Because He Lives' with Melba Lynch as accompanist. Ivan Schafer was the organist. Casketbearers were: John Ferebee, George Ferebee, Allen Ferebee, Gene Holsteen, Marvin Ruhga and Wayne Wroughton. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson was in charge of the arrangements.
