Born September 24, 1928, in Cherokee County, SC, he was the son of the late Romulas Maynor (1898-1949) and Eunice (Kirby) Maynor (1909-1996).
He was retired from Draper Rockwell International and was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church of Cowpens. He formerly served as a Deacon in his previous churches and was Treasurer at Westside Baptist Church of Cowpens.
He was a member of Cowpens Masonic Lodge #210 and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Ailene Cash Maynor; a daughter, Teresa Jacobs and her husband John of Spartanburg; a son, Michael S. Maynor of Summerville; five sisters, Juanita Sanders of Saluda, Verna Mae Crook of Lincolnton, GA, Jean Parham of Spartanburg, Elizabeth Thrift of Cowpens, and Sylvia Coggins of Clifton; two granddaughters, Crystal Wilson and her husband Chris of Inman, and Nikki Jacobs of the home; a great-grandchild, Gracie Ann Wilson of Spartanburg; and a step-great-grandchild, Kara Wilson of Spartanburg.
Visitation was 10:00-10:45 AM on Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services followed at 11:00 AM at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dennis D. Spencer and Chaplain Rick Millwood. Entombment was in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to Samaritan Care Hospice, 500 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
