OLD PIONEER CALLED HOME
Mary Susan Appleby was born in Lafayette county (sic), Wisconsin, May 10, 1848, and departed this life February 17, 1913, at her home north of Nelson. She was united in marriage to John G. Dunken in Richland county (sic), Wisc., May 20, 1866. To this union were born ten children, three of whom have preceded her. She with her family came to Nuckolls county (sic) in the summer of 1873, where she lived until the time of her death. She joined the United Brethren church (sic) when a small girl, and remained faithful until she was called to her reward. She leaves a husband, five sons, two daughters, twenty grandchildren, a mother, three brothers, two sisters, and a host of friends to mourn her death.
The funeral occrured (sic) Tuesday afternoon from the Methodist church (sic), Rev. Caldwell assisted by Rev. Brooks, conducted the service.
