Funeral services for Ruby "Nana" Blanche Hurst, 86, of Clarksville, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, at Scott Funeral Home's North Chapel, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. She died Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was a native of Lebanon, Mo., a retired teacher for Greater Clark Schools, working at McCulloch, Middle Road and Thomas Jefferson Elementary Schools. She was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in New Albany.

Survivors include two granddaughters, Jennifer Fox and Andrea Hall, both of Jeffersonville; two nieces, Pat Watson and Pam. She was known as "Nana" by Kaitlyn, Matthew, Jacob, Donan, Shelby, and Aubree.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Hurst; her husband, Willard Hurst; parents, Omar and Eva Pippin Little; and a sister, Doris Rush.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 19 and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice and Palliative Care of Southern Indiana, the American Cancer Society, or the Animal Protection Agency. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
