Michael G. Turcotte Sr. Native of New Orleans and resident of Slidell for 40 yrs, passed away on Tues. January 8, 2013 at the age of 78.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Shirley K. Turcotte and son Dennis Turcotte.

Loving father of Michael Turcotte Jr., Karen Turcotte Hill, Kellee Turcotte Lee (Christopher), Sharon Detiller (Ted) and Victoria Ratts. Grandfather to Lauren, Michael, Kerrie, Lee, Michael and Aaron. Michael is survived by his sister Jeanne T. Goss and niece Regina.

He served 8 years in the Naval and Air Force Reserves. He retired from the Sheet Metal Union Local 11 in Metairie. He was the Financial Secty/Treas & served as the elected Business Agent. In his younger years Turcotte was a 5 time Golden Glove Boxer and went on to fight in 3 world championships, which secured his position in the Boxing Hall of Fame. Mike will be dearly missed by everyone especially his cherished pit bull, WhiteJack.

Family, friends, all members of Sheet Metal Local 11 and his friends at the Slidell Senior Center are invited to a Funeral Service in his honor to celebrate his life this Sat. January 12, at 1pm at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home 3827 Canal St. New Orleans, LA 504-618-1564. Visitation will begin at 10am until Service Time. Interment will follow in St. Roch Cemetery #2.
