Bobby Joe Absher, age 70, of Raven, VA passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Tazewell Community Hospital. He was born in Tazewell County and was the son of the late Paul Matthew Absher and Ann Mae Cline Absher. He was a retired coal miner and was a member of the UMWA.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Proffitt; one nephew, Thomas Price.
He is survived by his mother, Ann Absher of Raven, VA; one son, Michael Absher and wife Lexie of Tellico Plains, TN; one daughter, Tracy Brearton and husband Randy of Warsaw, KY; two sisters, Linda Price of Swords Creek, VA and Susie Deskins and husband Harold of Raven, VA; one brother, Jimmy Absher and wife Robin of Carterville, IL; best friend, Jerry Absher; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
His wishes were to be cremated with no services.
