Elizabeth Gaines Domnanovich, of Birmingham, passed away on 25 July 2019 at St Vincent's Hospital at the age of 96.
Mrs. Domnanovich was born on September 2, 1922 to Grover Ellington and Minnie Arnett, at Lloyd Noland Hospital Fairfield, Alabama. She graduated from Ensley High. While growing up she never had white bread as either her Mother or Father would make cornbread She grew up in Docena with chickens in the back yard and pigs in a common pen.
She attended the University of Alabama where she married the Captain of the Football team. She was a member of the St. Mark United Methodist Church.
Mother said she always had her purse by the door in case her and Daddy decided to take a trip. After Daddy's retirement, her and Daddy would spend a couple months a year at Treasure Island, Florida. Something she always looked forward to, was the 4th of July trip to South Bend, Indiana to visit with Daddy's relatives. Something she did for over 70 years She also enjoyed when I would take her down to Corona to see where her Mother grew up Another trip she would take was to Lynch, Kentucky to visit her Mother's sister. After the birth of her Great Granddaughter Jules she was always ready for that visit.
She is survived by her son Joseph M Domnanovich; grandson John David and his wife Kristy Domnanovich, GreatGrandDaughter Jules Domnanovich; granddaughter Kathryn Domnanovich Thompson and her husband Jonathan.
