Manitowoc - Jean A. Wilda, age 89, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
She was born on August 13, 1929 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Louis and Eleanor (Haberman) Duprey. Jean's birth mother, Emma (nee Pautz) passed away when she was just a baby. Jean was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1947. On November 25, 1950 she married LeRoy "Bounce" John Wilda at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on August 18, 2017. She took courses at LTC and was in charge of advertising for Johnson Hills and later at Rahr's Family Home Furnishings. Jean finished her career with LeBrech Insurance Agency. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, and feeding the squirrels. Jean loved traveling with her husband, touring many southwest states, and spending winters in Palm Springs, CA.
She is survived by two sisters-in-law: Pat (Jim) Konop and their children: Lee, Rick (Laura) and Connie; Nancy McDonnell and her children: Jamie (Karen) McDonnell, Scott (Julie) McDonnell and other relatives and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her brother-in-law: James McDonnell; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law: Ervin and Katheryn (Novak) Wilda.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 29, 2019 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, 1416 Grand Avenue, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Bill Evans and Deacon Alan Boeldt. Jean will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The Family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, July 29, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for donation of their choice.
