GALVESTON, Ind.-Frank Merrell Spence, 75, 221 E. Griffith St., died at 6:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 1979, in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Kokomo.
Born in Cass County Jan. 23, 1904, he was the son of Thomas and Leota (Merrell) Spence. He was married to Elma Walters, who preceded him in death. He was married Sept. 11, 1943, to Helen Criss who survives.
He was a tool and die maker at Delco Electronics Division for 16 years before his retirement and was a member of First Baptist Church in Galveston.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Wilbur Wisler of Galveston, Mrs. William J. Klenck and Mrs. Jerry Disney, both of Wisconsin, and Mrs. Larry Newhouser* of Peru; three sons, Joseph W. Spence of Flora, Timothy Spence of Anderson and Peter Spence of Port Charlotte, Fla.; three sisters, Esther Johnson and Nell Jordan, both of Galveston R. R. 1 and Elizabeth McCoy of Galveston; two brothers, Don Spence of Galveston R. R. 1 and Russell Spence of Galveston; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Murray Funeral Home, Galveston chapel, with Rev. Jan Hobbs officiating. Burial will be in Galveston Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 t0 9 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
