Angela Evadney Shakes-Blake sunrise August 10, 1961. Born to Alexander Shakes and Hazel Nelson. She was second child with 9 siblings. Errol, now deceased, Barry, Derrick, Michael, Junior, Sandra, Christine, Maxine and Deneisha. Evadney was born in the rural district of Springfield in St. James, Jamaica and at a tender age moved to Glendevon, Montego Bay to live with Catherine Campbell and her daughter Sybil Brown. In her new home Evadney became a part of larger more diverse family. Although she was no longer living with her biological family she was nurtured and raised in an environment with solid Christian values that she never strayed from. She was loved as a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend and a confidant.

Evadney attended Albion All Age and went on Harrison Memorial High School where she graduated in 1981. She got baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist faith at a tender age and was reconsecrated on August 10 of last year. Renewing her commitment to The Lord.

A cleaner more organized person you will never have the pleasure of meeting. Evadney was a cut above the rest. She knew how she wanted things done and the exact location where she wanted something placed. No arguments. It was her way.

Hardworking, independent. She was always working. Lazy wasn't apart of her vocabulary. Always striving for more, always doing for and taking care of her family.

Fashionable. She had a true sense of style and was always appropriately dressed. A quality that is rare these days.

Friendly. Evadney was a social butterfly. She liked entertaining. She liked having her friends around. Evadney could cook and would make delicious mouthwatering meals that would keep you coming back for more.

Evadney migrated to the USA in 2012. She later married Kingsley Blake on August 30, 2015 in a beautiful wedding that was done as expected, “her way". She knew what she wanted. She fell ill last year. During her illness her church family, friends and Kingsley took the best care of her, providing for her every need and providing invaluable support. For this we thank you. Kingsley, “Thank you".

Evadney wasn't perfect and she never left The Lord. She walked with Him all the way until the very end.

Evadney passed away on April 13 with Kingsley by her side.

Be not burdened with times if sorrow,

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life's been full, I savoured much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
