Edmond, age 76, died at his home in Osawatomie following a long illness. He was the son of George and Josephine (Soldano) Mummert. He married Marsha Greenwood on December 21, 1985, in Miami, Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife, his children., James Greenwood, Calvin Mummert, Belinda Zaparinuk, Teresa Pelkey, Marcy Nighswonger, and Gayle Strahan, his sister, Carol Smith, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, George Wayman Mummert. Graveside services were held at Fort Scott National Cemetery.
