Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Ethridge Hungerpiller, 96, will be held at 5:00 pm on Thursday, August 8th, 2019 at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Gregg Boyd will officiate with a private burial in First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 7th, 2019 at the home, 516 Segars Mill Rd.

Mrs. Hungerpiller, the widow of Kent Hungerpiller, Sr., died peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2019. Born in Greenwood County, SC, she was a daughter of the late O. A. Ethridge and Bess Outzs Ethridge and step-mother, Harriett McLees Strom. She was educated in the Greenwood schools and graduated from Lander College. She moved to Hartsville in 1943 where she met Kent and they were married for 64 years.

Anna was a charter member of the Kalmia Garden Club and the Jacob Kelley House Guild. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church. She loved gardening and cooking and in her later years watching the birds and chasing the squirrels from the feeder.

She is survived by her daughter, Bess Gore (Don); sons, Colin Hungerpiller (Elaine), David Hungerpiller (Stephanie); daughter-in-law, Jean Hungerpiller; grandchildren, Brittain Coggins, Kenton Hungerpiller, Emily Beams, DuPre Hungerpiller, Colin Hungerpiller, McCrae Gore, Tom Gore, Anna Gore Tingen, Tyler Hungerpiller, Sloan Hungerpiller; great-grandchildren, Claire Gore, Rutledge Hamrick, Will Gore, Mac Tingen, Grey Tingen, Watson Tingen; nephew, Dr. O. A. "Sonny" Ethridge (Pat).

She was preceded in death by her son, Kent Hungerpiller Jr.; brother, O. A. Ethridge (Willie).
