Cyril J. Bresett, Sr., age 84, of Macomb, passed away on August 4, 2019 at the United Helpers Maplewood Home in Canton.

His funeral service will be held at the Brasie Corners Presbyterian Church on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Lake Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Macomb Historical Association Building. Arrangements are under the care of French Funeral Home in Gouverneur.

Cyril was born on June 5, 1935 in Gouverneur, to the late Claude and Edith (Brasie) Bresett. He graduated from Morristown Central School in 1953 and then went on to school at Canton ATI for two years, studying Animal Husbandry and Agricultural Business. He married Ida R. Hutton on October 1, 1955 at the Brasie Corners Presbyterian Church. Together they owned and operated the C&I Sport Shop. Ida passed away on July 7, 2012.

He worked as a school bus mechanic and drove bus for Gouverneur Central School for over 20 years. He was a member of the NYS and National Grange, a life member of the NRA, International Triumph Motorcycle Owners Club and was a former 4-H Leader. Cyril enjoyed photography, target shooting, raising beef cattle on the family farm and loved WWII Aircraft and Civil War history.

Cyril is survived by his seven children, Cyril Bresett Jr. and Ardyce of Granville, NY, Kevin and Aimee Bresett of Macomb, Greg and Jacqueline Bresett of Brushton, Denise and Doug Komm of Sanford, FL, Debra Konecni of Vacaville, CA, Amy and Kirk Palozzi of Spencerport, Michelle and Kirk Robinson of Lisbon; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Donations in memory of Cyril may be made to the Brasie Corners Community Church or to the St. Lawrence Pomona Grange, or to the Macomb Historical Association.
