Born in Princeton, he was a son of the late Walter and Carean Griffith Wyrick. He was a retired Virginian Railroad employee with 17 years of service and a retired Mercer County Board of Education employee with 26 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Princeton and was active in all phases of the church, including church treasurer for 21 years and a Bible teacher for the Young Adult Sunday School Class and he was on the board of deacons.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Inez Six Wyrick; one son, James W. Wyrick of Princeton; two daughters, Mrs. J.R. Patty VanSutphen of Princeton and Mrs. Neil (Carol) Martin of Spartinsburg, S.C.; four sisters, Mrs. Mason (Hazel) Harvey, Mrs. Alva Dillman, Mrs. Paul (Joyce) Dickerson and Mrs. Curtis (Delores) Waddell, all of Princeton; two brothers, Homer and Walter T. “Corky” Wyrick, both of Princeton; five grandchildren.
