Obituary: Thomas Reed Moore, 69, of Patriot passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Holzer Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer. Thomas was born on January 31, 1950 in Gallipolis to Clemence Reed and Ella Louise Moore, who preceded him in death. In 1989 during a work accident, Thomas was electrocuted and lost his left arm. He did not allow that to stop him; he persevered and went on to live independently. Most know Thomas because of the great horseman he was. He also had a love for Ford trucks. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Sharry Moore Long and daughters, Amy Moore and Carrie Moore. Thomas leaves behind his daughter, Jessica (Casey) Zigler of Patriot; grandchildren, Chance Zigler, Brody Zigler, Kaylee Zigler, Jaxon Zigler, Khrizdon VanHoose, and Devhon Johnson; great grandson, Bentley Zigler; sisters, Ella Mae Henry and Carol Butterick; brother, Donald Moore; and many friends. The funeral service for Thomas will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Willis Funeral Home. Friends may call prior to the service from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crown City Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family would like to thank Holzer Hospice.
