Herbert George Miller, Cambridge, WI
At 83, a good man left this world to join seven of his siblings and his parents John and Anna (Haeusler) Miller. He enjoyed racing motorcycle, all types of dirt track racing including Angel Park in Sun Prairie, NASCAR, fast pitch softball, bowling and flea market selling. Herb appreciated the warm friendships he shared with the DeForest class of 1952.
Herb joined the Air Force at age 17 and retired 20 years later. With a Top Security Clearance, he served in remote Alaska inside the Arctic Circle, remote Turkey, England, Truax Field, Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, and Francis E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. After Herb retired, he and his family moved to Cambridge (his adopted home town) where he managed the new bowling alley. After 4 years, Herb moved on to drive those "big trucks" cross country for 18 years, ending his working years at Madison Records.
On May 19, 1990, Herb married Donna Hutter in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Herb was a lifetime member of the USAF Sergeants Association, a lifetime member of the VFW Post #9424 and a lifetime member of the Teamsters Local #695.
He has joined his parents, four brothers Martin, Robert, Johnny and Jerry and three sisters Florence, Caroline and Pauline for great good times on the other side.
A wake will be held at the Nitardy Funeral Home, 208 N. Park Street in Cambridge, from 5 p.m. To 7 p.m. on December 27, 2017. A one hour visitation will be held on December 28, 2017 from 9:30am- 10:30 am followed by a celebration of life service. Burial will be in the St. Andrew Cemetery in Verona, Wisconsin with lunch at the Verona American Legion.
