Leonard L. Schuh, age 75, of 4536 Harvest Circle, Manitowoc, died Saturday morning, June 22, 2002 at Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc, at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 25, 2002. Officiating at the Memorial Mass will be the rev. Camillus Janas, OFM.

Lenny was born on September 6, 1926 in Valders, the son of the late Nicholas and Anna Denk Schuh. He was a graduate of Lincoln High school, Manitowoc, class of 1944. Leonard served in the United States Army. He married the former Deloris Roepke on August 15, 1953. She preceded him in death on December 28, 1997. He was employed at the Kelvinator Company and also Manitowoc Company, Crane Divisioon. Retired member of the Manitowoc,Two Rivers officials association. Played semi-pro football with the Big Reds team of Adrian, MI and the Sheboygan Redwings; was also a member of the Manitowoc Chiefs team as a player and coach. He coached the Manitowoc Clippers baseball team for one season. Leonard was elected to the Manitowoc Semi Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995 and the Manitowoc County Sports Hall of Fame in 1998. He was a WIAA certified official for 22 years, officiating baseball, football and basketball in high school games throughout the state; he also officiated in the semi-pro football league of Wisconsin. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #706 and American Legion Post #88, both of Manitowoc and the Manitowoc Senior Center. His greatest pastimes were watching local baseball and softball game and shooting pool.

Survivors include one daughter, Dawn Madsen, Manitowoc; two grandchildren, Carly and Michael Madsen, at home; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert and Angie Schuh, Chilton, Roger and Margie Schuh, Sheboygan, Al and Pat Schuh, Dykesville; one sister and four brothers-in-law; Lorraine and Norman Massman, Manitowoc, Dallas Kelp, Indiana, George Cain, Manitowoc, Leon Armbruster, Manitowoc; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Marlene Roepke, all of Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Leonard was preceded in death by four sisters, Marilyn Kelp, Gail Armbruster, Germaine Neuenfeldt and Rosie Cain.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc from 9 AM until the time of service at 10 AM on Tuesday, June 25, 2002.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
