Arlene Mease, 66, Maribel died early Tuesday morning, Dec. 28, 2004.

She was born April 24, 1938, in Whitelaw, to the late Hugo and Vera (Wolter) Pantzlaff. Arlene married Leonard Mease on May 30, 1957, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Maribel. He preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1987. Arlene owned and operated the Landmark Cafe in Denmark, was Past Town Clerk of Cooperstown, served on the Board of Directors for the Viking Volunteer Rescue as well as the Town of Cooperstown. She was a current member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Maribel. Arlene's faith and positive attitude touched all who came in contact with her. Arlene was the family historian working on the genealogy of both the Mease and Pantzlaff families, and was currently documenting the history of John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Maribel.

Survivors include her sons, Dwayne Mease, Green Bay; Brian and Jeanne Mease, Denmark; Jeffrey Mease, Green Bay, six grandchildren, Geordin and Aubree, Erin and Brandon, Ryan and Austin; three brothers, Lloyd and Sandy Pantzlaff, Maribel; Melroy and Arlene Pantzlaff, Cato; Ralph and Kathy Pantzlaff, Denmark; special family friend, Tom Armstrong, Crivitz; nieces and nephews, Andy, Candace, and Elizabeth, Greg, Mike, Stacy and Nick, Mark, Paul and Tim; and a special friend, Terry Longrie. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; a son, Robbie; and brothers, Robert and Ronald.

Friends may call at the Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty. R Denmark, on Wednesday (Today) from 4 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Maribel. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Mark Walters officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
