Elsie Pond Hayner Fish, 78, of Sarasota, Florida died Tuesday, May 20 at her home.

Born in Windham, she later moved to Stamford and with her late husband, Glenn Hayner, ran the Stamford Victory for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Donald, three daughters, Priscilla H. Fleeman of Sarasota, Lois Hayner of Guilderland and Doris H. Cornell of Pulaski; one brother, Edward Pond of Torrington, Conn.; eight sisters, Anna Plankenhorn of Middlefield, Marjorie Barker of Sarasota, Fla., Martha Angle of Haines Falls, Cecilia Lee of Bridgeport, Conn., Leudora Woodworth of Haines Falls, Lucy Barnham of Torrington, Conn., Dorthea Miles of Rhinebeck and Marion Benjamin Saugerties; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Memorial services were Thursday, May 22 at Roberta Funeral Home, Sarasota, Fla. Donations may be made to the Alzheimers Family Support Group, P.O. Box 874, Brandenton, Fla. 333506. National Cremation Society, Sarasota Chapter in charge.
