She was the daughter of Rev. John Shaw and Elizabeth Smith (who later married Rev. Stephen Peabody). tombstone inscription: "In memory of Elizabeth Quincy Shaw, eldest daughter of the late Rev. John and Elizabeth Shaw of Haverhill, Mass. who died Sept. 4, 1793 aged 18 yrs." (Note: this inscription is on the west side of the monument, underneath the inscription for Mrs. Elizabeth Peabody, her mother; the other sides of this monument have inscriptions for other members of the Peabody family)
