Edgar M. (Mickey) Knauer, age 73, of 508 Pine St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday, January 12, 1994, at his residence.
Private Family Services were held. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Edgar was born January 27, 1920, in Manitowoc, Wis., son of the late Edgar P. and Amanda Koch Knauer. He married the former Arlene Steeber on October 11, 1941, at the St. Lukes Catholic Church, Two Rivers, Wis. He served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1945. Upon his return to Manitowoc Edgar worked for his father as a steamfitter. Edgar then started his own business as a welder and was also employed as a welder for other local businesses.
Survivors incldue his wife, Arlen Knauer, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael P. and Kristy Knauer, Manitowoc; five daguhters and two sons-in-law, Karmen and Dale E. Meissner, Two Rivers, Gail Wetenkamp, Laona, Wis., Kathy Ann Weichart, Manitowoc, Kris Bangart, Chilton, Wis., and Polly and Tony Kraemer, Manitowoc; ten grandchildren, Mitch and his wife Deborah Meissner, Marc Meissner, Vicki, David and Larry Wetekamp (sic), Brian Monczunski, Jesse Weichart, Ross and Renae Bangart, and Robert John Knauer; one great granddaughter, Torah Meissner; two brothers, Bernard Knauer, Woodruff, Wis., and Gene Knauer, Plymouth, Wis. He was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Knauer.
Pops, we will all miss you very much.
