WILLIAM NEWTON FOWLER, 58, of Paw Creek died Tuesday in an Asheville hospital. Funeral 3 p.m. Thursday at Harry & Bryant Chapel in The Oaks.

WILLIAM NEWTON FOWLER

William Newton Fowler, 58, of Paw Creek, died Tuesday, April 28, 1959, in a hospital at Oteen. Mr. Fowler, son of J. W. Fowler and the late Mrs. Mary Newton Fowler, was born May 4, 1900 in Anderson, S.C. He had lived in Charlotte for the past 30 years and for 16 years was associated with the Petroleum Transportation Co. of Gastonia. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, the former Miss Edith Franklin of Rockwood, Tenn.; two stepsons, Eugene Clinton of Portsmouth, Va., and Ronald Clinton of Gastonia; three sisters, Mrs. J. R. Brinkhoff of Charlotte, Mrs. A. A. Mallett of Charlotte, and Mrs. C. B. Davis of Baltimore, Md.; three brothers, J. H. Fowler of New York City, S. R. Fowler of Charlotte, and J. T. Fowler of Liberty, S. C. Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon from the Harry and Bryant Chapel in the Oaks. Dr. Kenneth Goodson and the Rev. H. Glen Lanier, pastor and associate pastor of First Methodist Church, will officiate. Entombment will be in Sharon Memorial Mausoleum.
