WESTVILLE -- Wayne Alfred Coates, 80, of Westville, died Saturday.
He was born March 11, 1906 in Momence, Ill., the son of William and Ora (Rice) Coates. On March 25, 1933 he married Evangeline Springer, who survives.
Also surviving is a son, Arnold of Westville; two daughters, Ramona Nessler of Michigan City and Helen Adams of Logansport; four sisters, Lorraine Milspaugh and Genevieve Woodke of Crown Point, Inez Lucas and Margaret Muehe of Illinois; two brothers, Theron of Roselawn and Robert of La Porte; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Coates was a member of Carpenters Local 1485, La Porte.
Services 1 p.m. Wednesday at Weaver Funeral Home; the Rev. James Andrews officiating; burial in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso; visitation after noon Tuesday until time of services.
