He was KIA when a German U-Boat shot 3 Torpedo's and the USS Jacob Jones DD-130 sunk off Cape May, New Jersey on Feb. 28, 1942, Boatswain Mate Second Class C.J. Allen is honored with several Medals: Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
