Samuel L. Minix was born April 18, 1867, in Gasper Twp., Preble County, Ohio, the son of William & Mahala (Yost) Minix; his siblings were: Mary E Minix, John H Minix, William A Minix, Emeretta Minix, Charles E Minix, Elenora Minix, Nancy J Minix, and Lana M. Minix.

He was first united in marriage to Elizabeth Woodring on July 12, 1888, Preble County, Ohio. To this union, one known child was born, Treva (Minix) Potterf.

Following the death of Elizabeth in 1902, he was united in marriage to Elnora Bierly, daughter of Jacob & Barbara (Minnich) Bierly, on November 16, 1904, Preble County, Ohio. There were no known children born to this union.

Following the death of Elnora (Bierly) Minix in 1931, he was then united in marriage to Dora (?). To this union, no known children were born.

Having lived most of his life in and around the Eaton, Preble County area, he moved to Centerville, Wayne County, Indiana (either following his marriage to Dora, or marrying her there). It is here he received his final summons.

Sam Minix

Funeral services for Sam Minix, 80 were held at the Barnes Funeral home Saturday at 3 p.m. Burial was made in Mound Hill cemetery in charge of Rev. Richard P. Coad.

Deceased was a resident of Centerville, Indiana and a native of Preble county. He lived a greater part of his life in Eaton.

Survivors include the widow, Dora, of Centerville; a sister Mrs. Ed Wyson, of Eaton and a grandson, James Potterf of Eaton RR.

Sam Minix, 80, county native, who spent most of his life in and around Eaton, died last Thursday at his home in Centerville, Ind., and funeral services and burial occurred in Eaton on Saturday afternoon. Surviving include one sister, Mrs. Ed Wysong, Eaton.
