GARY MICHAEL BATES

Gary Michael Bates, 15, of Big Springs, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, Jan. 15. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of Jeffery C. Richards of Big Springs and Robin Bates Greer of Newton Falls, Ohio. He was a ninth grade student at Calhoun County High School.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his step-father, Coolidge Greer of Newton Falls; three sisters, Tamy Jo Richards and Heather Ann Richards, both of Big Springs, and Amy Lynn Bates of Newton Falls; one brother, Jeffery C. Richards, II, of Big Springs; paternal grandmother, Glenna Richards of Big Springs; and maternal grandmother, Rosalee Bates of Newton Falls.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jeramie Bates.

Services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Big Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday.
