Robert W. Allyn
Robert W. Allyn, 64, of Sioux City died Tuesday, May 27, 1997, at a Sioux City hospital of heart disease.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Terry Graham officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Allyn was born May 16, 1933, in Lyman County, S.D. He moved to Sioux City in the early 1940s. He attended Roosevelt Elementary School in Sioux City. He married Sherly Kirk on Oct. 11, 1952, in Sioux City. He was employed as an equipment operator with the City of Sioux City for 30 years.
He was the president of the Hawkeye Club in Sioux City.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Dorothy Allyn of South Sioux City; a son and his wife, Robert and Dana of Allen, Texas; three daughters and their husbands, Jacqueline and Jay Lombardi of Oklahoma City, Okla., Carol and Jack Ehrmantraut of Plano, Texas, and Tammy and Steve Spade of Sioux City; a brother, William of Pueblo, Colo.; and three sisters, Lucille Bewley of Bemidji, Minn., Delores Johnson and Betty Reese, both of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers.
Pallbearers will be Robert Allyn, Stephen Spade, Conrad "Buzz" Maskee, Rod Clay, Steve Hansen, and Bill Kelly.
