Dennis was a mechanic by trade and repaired cars and appliances. He enjoyed classic cars and music, especially old time rock and roll and classic country, Dennis enjoyed making friends and family laugh and always gave a nickname to the ones he loved. He had a way of finding the good in every situation and was a comfort to everyone he met, especially his family. He was a great loss to all who loved him.
Dennis is survived by the love of his life for 41 years, Joyce McCoy, daughters Jessica Shaffer and Heather Lamp; grand children, Cheyenne Carter, Brittany Shaffer, Ciara Lamp, Tyler Lamp and Morgan Lamp. Also daughter Hope Byrd and grandsons, Michael, Bryant and Shayne; great grandson Max. Brother, John Bailey, who was his best friend and they shared a special bond. Sisters, Judy Cotton, Barbara Ball and Eva Martin as well as several niece and nephews.
In addition to his father Dennis was preceded in death by brothers, Beldon, Bailey, and Randall Bailey, daughter Heather Lamp and grand daughter Brittany Shaffer and nephew Jason Cotton.
The family would like to thank Marietta Memorial Hospital and nurse Kim for their services and kindness.
Cremation services were provided by Mid-Ohio Valley Cremation Society and burial will beat Evergreen South Cemetery in Parkersburg. No memorial services are scheduled at this time per Dennis’ wishes and request.
