A native of Onondaga, Mr. Abbott, 74, had lived in Florida for 8 1/2 years. He was a retired carpenter.
Mr. Abbott formerly attended Cedarvale United Methodist Church and was a charter member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marion Oaks, Fla. He was a charter member of South Onondaga Fire Dept. and received a gold badge in recognition for his long association with the department. He was also a member of the Marion Oaks Civic Assn. of Retired Persons.
Mr. Abbott is survived by his wife, the former Mildred Wilson; a daughter, Sara Irby of Springfield, Mo.; a son, Robert Abbott of Syracuse; three brothers, Alfred Abbott and Leroy Abbott, both of Marcellus, and Carlton Abbott of Cedarvale; a sister, Harriett Winters of Syracuse, and five grandchildren.
