Duke, a loving yellow lab, had gotten out of his backyard and was being chased by another dog. They both ran into traffic and Duke was hit head-on. The driver never stopped. We arrived on the scene minutes after it happened. We put Duke in the car and Officer Ptacek escorted us, lights and sirens, to the vet. Duke passed while they were trying to stabilize him for treatment.
Duke's little brother Peter, a 1 year old Beagle also got out of the yard that day. Peter has not returned. They left their yard in the area of Wolf Road & Grand Ave, Northlake IL. We are hoping that someone will turn him in. There is a broken-hearted 5-year-old girl missing her dogs. If you know of Peter's whereabouts, please contact us at [email protected].
