Violet Underwood passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Clara City Senior Living at the age of 97.

Violet Marie (Allen) Underwood was born July 3, 1920 at Sleepy Eye, MN the daughter of William and Esther (Stockdill) Allen. She moved with her family to Montevideo as a young girl. She was united in marriage with Harmon Underwood December 21, 1940 in Montevideo. She worked as a CNA at Luther Haven Nursing Home for several years and later worked with John Walstrom Catering. Violet was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and active in Circle, Sewing Club and Quilting Club. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, and gardening.
She is survived by three daughters: Karen, Linda and Yvonne Bruner; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Fern.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Harmon in 1979; a daughter, Kathryn Conroy in 1995; a great-granddaughter, Katie Burkey in 2017; and 11 brothers and sisters.
