ANGLIN, Francis Mulvey
1935 - 2016
Died peacefully at the Elizabeth Bruyere Centre on January 16, 2016 after a brief and sudden illness. Predeceased by his mother Eleanor Bohun Mulvey, his father Edward Alexander Anglin and his sister Eleanor "Bebe" Anglin. Frank was the grandson of both the Right Honourable Francis Alexander Anglin, Chief Justice of Canada and the Honourable Thomas Mulvey, Under Secretary of State. He was the great-grandson of the Honourable Timothy Warren Anglin, Speaker of the House of Commons. He will be sadly missed by his two children who were the light of his life, Alexander McTavish Anglin (Rebecca Cherner) and Emily Joan Street Anglin (Alexandre Gignac), and by their loving mother Linda Marjorie Street as well as by his brothers and sisters-in-law Thomas Street (Patti Hay), Douglas Street (Angeline Varenka) and Harold Hamilton and his many nieces and nephews. Born in Ottawa, Frank graduated from the University of Ottawa and attended the University of Western Ontario before pursuing a life-long career as a geophysicist with the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources. His research contributed to the knowledge of earthquake activity in the St. Lawrence Valley as well as to international initiatives related to underground nuclear testing and induced seismicity in hydro-electric reservoirs. After retiring from the Public Service of Canada, Frank worked as a volunteer with the Friends of the National Gallery. He loved nothing more than to sit and read with one of his beloved cats on his lap while listening to classical music. Frank's family wishes to recognize the warm friendships that were shared with him over his too brief time at the Amica Residence Westboro and the loving care he received at the Queensway Carleton Hospital and at the Elizabeth Bruyere Centre. A celebration of Frank's life will be held at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 10:00 to 12:00. He will be interred at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Toronto. In memory of Frank, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
