Dolores Mae Kolden, the daughter of the late Emanuel and Maude (Fuller) Buchholz, was born on May 5, 1933, at Plankington, SD and the family later moved to Mentor, MN. She attended school and grew to womanhood there and was graduated from Mentor High School. Dorlores was employed at the former Blom Boarding Home in Middle River. On Dec. 15, 1957, Dolores was united in marriage to Arthur T. Kolden at Mentor. The couple made their home on the present farm in Cedar Township of Marshall Co., for many years. Dolores was employed by Marshall County doing housekeeping for the elderly and later by Tri Valley, Inc. From 1983 to the present, she did foster care in her home. She was a member of the former Middle River Seventh Day Adventist Church and later of the S.D.A. Church in Thief River Falls. She was also a member of the Dorcas Society. Her husband passed away Jan. 29, 2007 and she continued her home on the farm. She had been in failing health for the past year and passed away at her home on Thur. afternoon, Aug. 29, 2019, at the age of 86 years, 3 months and 24 days.
She is survived by one daughter: Twila (Randy) Henrickson, of Goodridge, MN; two sons: Bruce (Lita), of Gatzke and Syver (Kelly), of Pengilly, MN.; 6 grandchildren: Tara, Travis, Jake, Crystal, Maloni and Thor; 5 great-grandchildren, including twins: Callie and Taylor, and Max, Mercedes and Henrik two brothers: Buddy Buchholz, of Fosston, MN and Ted, of Norman, OK.; in addition to several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one son: Bret in 1994, and one sister, Kathy.
