She was born Jan. 4, 1927, in Ludington, the daughter of Timothy and Jane (Shinsky) Barber.
Frances was an active member of St. Gregory Catholic Church, and a loving wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma.
Frances is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Harold Tate; children, Michael (Nancy) Tate, Marilynn (Bob) Heer, and Patrick (Deb) Tate; grandchildren, Shane, Jamie, Hiedi, Theresa, Marianne, and Rebekah; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Hannah, Nikolas, Brady, Landry, Trayce, and Siena; step-grandchildren, Chris, Craig, Cameron, and Jenni; sister, Martha Goff; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Timothy and Jane Barber; two sisters; and two brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019, at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 316 S. Peach Ave., Hart, with Father Daniel Schumaker presiding. Interment will be in Hart Cemetery.
