The Springdale News 12/20/1912 W.C. obit page 387 from The Berryville Star, There is a very sad case at the residence of B. Garwood near the depot this morning. A Mr. Carroll, wife and two children arrived here yesterday from Texas by private conveyance, expecting to take the train here for South Carolina. The wife was very sick of tuberculosis and a physician advised that the woman was too low to go further. They stopped at the home of Mr. Garwood and early this morning the woman died and she is to be buried here. A collection was taken up this morning to assist the bereaved husband in bearing his expenses.
