Wendell Wayne Stewart
June 22, 1949 - September 3, 2019
Wendell Wayne Stewart, 70, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at his home.
Mr. Stewart, the son of Monroe Nelson Stewart and Minnie Louise Thomason Stewart, was born in Dayton, Ohio on June 22, 1949. He retired from CSX Transportation. He had various interests including collecting antiques and spending time at the lake. He took the most pride in spending time with family and friends and attending all the many sporting events of his children and grandchildren.
On September 7, 1974, Mr. Stewart was united in marriage to Glenna Fish Stewart who survives.
Other survivors include: two sons: Jason (& Stacey) Stewart and Kenny (& Erin) Stewart; his daughter Heather Stewart all of Richmond; one brother: Donald “Red” Stewart; one sister: Regina Durham and six grandchildren: Nathan Stewart, Natalie Stewart, Adam Stewart, Devan Stewart, Kilee Stewart and Jaxson Goble.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Stewart was also preceded in death by his brother, Nelson Stewart.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, September 6, 2019 at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Johnathan Tussey officiating. Burial will take place in the Scaffold Cane Cemetery in Rockcastle County.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jason Stewart, Kenny Stewart, Nathan Stewart, Adam Stewart, Chris Webb, Shawn Martin, J. D. Bowling and James Mills.
Honorary Pallbearers will be John Wood, Johnny Crouch, Donald “Red” Stewart, Gary Fish and Rick Fish.
