Joseph H. Baker, age 89, of Kasota, died on June 27, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato surrounded by his family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Marysburg. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Marysburg Catholic Cemetery.

Joseph was born on January 28, 1930 in Mankato to Harry and Mary (Germscheid) Baker. On March 28, 1951 Joseph was united in marriage to Marcella Frederick in Madison Lake.

Joe was a dairy farmer all of his life in rural Kasota, Lake Washington. After farming, Joe worked for Door Engineering in Kasota for 8 years and Hiniker for 8 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Lions Club, and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Marysburg. Joe was very involved in the DFL and ran for County Commissioner. Joe loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and camping. He also loved playing cards. Joe and Marcella wintered in Pine to Palm Resort in Weslaco, TX for 19 years.

Joe is survived by his wife, Marcella of Kasota; 11 children, Tom (Karen) Baker of Lake Jefferson, Mary (Gregg) Swenson of Rochester, Tim (Colleen) Baker of Lake Washington, Pat (Deb) Baker of Lake Washington, Dan (Connie) Baker of Rochester, Tony (Shirley) Baker of Mankato, Kathy (Ken) Morris of Holmen, WI, Shelly (Rich) Jaqua of North Mankato, John (Brenda) Baker of Red Wing, Joe (Jill) Baker of Willmar, and Don (Lisa) Baker of Janesville; special nephew, Tom (Bonnie) Thomas; 31 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jerry (MaryAnn) Baker, Jean Germscheid, and Patricia Roemhildt; sister-in-law, Nancy Baker; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters, Katherine Baker, Margaret (Howard) Oestreich, RoseMary (Bill) Thomas, and Shirley (Steve) Spiess; 4 brothers, Robert (Darlene) Baker, William (Myrna) Baker, James (Marge) Baker, and Richard Baker; and brothers-in-law, Richard Germscheid and Al Roemhildt.--Northview-North Mankato Mortuary
