He was born in Milwaukee on June 21, 1929, to the now late Frank and Ida (nee: Krebs) Meitner.
Mr. Meitner served with the 32nd Infantry Division of the National Guard from 1947 until 1954.
He was employed as a Salesman at Hoffer Paint and Glass from 1952 until 1954.
Meanwhile, he earned his Carpenter Apprenticeship in 1954. He was a Journeyman Carpenter for 30 years before being elected Business Agent for Racine's Local Union 91 in 1981. He served in that capacity until he retired in 1990. He was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and bowling.
Mr. Meitner was also preceded in death by his first wife of 34 years, Rose Marie (nee: Longtine) Meitner on February 3, 1987; sister, Lucille (Frank) Szopinski; brother, Jerome Meitner; and brother-in-law, Greg Kettenbeil.
