Hiram Alvin Archer, of the town of Rutland, died at his late home Sunday morning at 12, following a long illness, aged 81 years.
On April 25, 1855, he was married to Margaret M. Coburn in Rutland. At that time he purchased a farm on the south road about two miles from Burrs Mills, where he resided up to the time of his death.
Because of his poor health he had not been able to work lately. For many years he was a member of the South Rutland grange.
He is survived by his widow, Margaret Archer, two sons, Fred W. and Robert B., of Rutland and one daughter, Mrs. Eva. M. Boshart of Billings, Mont., and one brother, W.V. Archer of this city.
The funeral will be held from the late residence this afternoon at 2. Rev. George Eufield of the Rutland Congregational church, officiating. Interment in the town of Rutland.
