Glenn ‘Sonny’ Dunaway, 92, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Mon Health Medical Center. The son of the late Henry and Enola Everly Dunaway, he was born on September 26, 1926.

Sonny retired from National Mine Service Company and also had been employed by Feathers Construction Company, General Paving, Monongalia County Schools as a school bus driver, Bells Wholesale and served in the National Guard.

Sonny enjoyed singing and attended the Grafton Road Church of God. He loved to hunt, fish, and was an avid Mountaineer fan, enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates, and loved watching westerns. John Wayne was his favorite.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth Atkins Dunaway; three children: Diane White and her husband, Bill, of French Creek, Bill Dunaway and his wife, Cheryl, of Fairmont and Jeanette Dunaway of Morgantown; granddaughters: Trudy Ward and her husband, Creed of Volga and Amanda Huff of Volga; great grandchildren: Quill Ward and wife, Robin, Ike Ward and wife, Cassondra, Ivy Ward, and Andy and Alexandra Huff; great great grandchildren: Paityn, Scarlett, and Sallie Ward; a brother, Ken Dunaway of Cottonwood, CA; a sister, Mary Kay Barber of San Antonio, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister; and his brother in law, Bill Barber.

Friends may call at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 4 to 8pm and again on Thursday from 10 until time of services at 11am. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
