Daughter of Sidney and Fanny (Dean) Mansfield.
Born abt 1863. Ida Mansfield married James Summerville on 1 March 1886, in Muscatine County, Iowa. Ida died at age 23 yrs. This is the east side of the Mansfield family stone.
Front/north side: parents Sidney & Fannie Mansfield.
West side: brother Elisha & sisters' Mina & Mary E.
South side: brother Sheldon.
A sister, Eva Jean, is buried in Conesville Cemetery, Conesville, Iowa, although there is a stone with "Jean" on it, in Nichols Cemetery, with the rest of the family. Two brothers, Aaron & Wilbur, are buried in Lower City Cemetery, in Canaan, Litchfield, Connecticut.

From the Muscatine (Iowa) Weekly Journal, Friday, 20 August 1886:

On last Friday evening Mr. Mansfield received a telegram stating the serious illness of his daughter, Mrs. Summerville, of Topeka, Ka. The next morning, he with Mrs. Mansfield, took the early train for the home of their daughter, where they arrived a few hours before her death, which occurred on Sunday afternoon. The remains were brought here, arriving at 9 p.m., Monday. The funeral will be Wednesday, the 18th at 10 a.m. Mrs. Summerville (nee Ida Mansfield) was married the latter part of last February, and went with her husband to Kansas in May. Her sudden demise is a shock to all. Her childhood and school-girl days were spent in this place and vicinity. She was loved and respected by all and will be sadly missed. All sympathize with parents, brother and sisters in their sad bereavement.
