CLARKS, La., Jan. 19. — (Special) — The funeral of Daniel Clement Humphreys, 67, of Hollum [sic Holum], who died in a clinic in Columbia Monday, was held at the Grayson Methodist church Tuesday. Interment was in the Welcome Home cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. Ira Yeager of Monroe, assisted by Rev. F. L. Hearne, Rev. J. W. Lee and Rev. Squires of Grayson.

Mr. Humphreys was the son of the late Daniel [Josiah] Humphreys, who is credited with being the first settler in Caldwell parish. He was widely known and had lived in the parish his entire life.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Melissa Baker Humphreys; four daughters, Mrs. P. A. Zeagler, Clarks; Mrs. John Reeves, Grayson; Mrs. Hardy Lay, Columbia and Mrs. Fred Mercer, Clarks; and a son, Ralph Humphreys. Also he leaves a brother, A. H. Humphreys, Hollum [sic Holum]; a half-brother, Ben Price, Jena; two half-sisters, Mrs. John Tingle, Riverton, and Mrs. Ben Lively, Columbia.
