Irene Sophia Wergin Marchant, formerly of Manitowoc and Two Rivers, age 90, died on March 6, 2007, in Northfield, Minn.
She was born on March 1, 1917, in Two Rivers. In 1936, Irene Sophia Rozmarynoski married Fritz Wergin and lived and raised their family in Manitowoc amidst a strong extended family. After retiring to Florida, Irene lost her husband of 52 years in 1988. In 1990 she married Lew Marchant and moved with him to Northfield, Minn., in 2001.
She is survived one brother, Marvin Rozmarynoski of DePere; three daughters, Barbara (Jerry) Musil of Sun Prairie, Mary (Joe) Steinhauer of Spring City, Tenn., Kathy Young of Naples, Fla.; one son, Frank Wergin (Bridget) of Northfield, Minn.
Irene was preceded in death by Fritz and Lew, and by her son Larry Wergin.
Irene died peacefully among family, just five days after celebrating her 90th birthday with many of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A service in Irene's memory was held March 9, in Northfield, Minn.
