Leroy C. Dorey, age 94, of Manitowoc, died Friday evening, Jan. 26, 2018 at Aurora Baycare Medical Center, Green Bay with his loving family at his side.
Leroy was born on Oct. 20, 1923 in Manitowoc, son of the late Leo and Ida (Miller) Dorey. He attended Manitowoc public schools and the Manitowoc Vocational School. In 1942 he entered the U.S. Army Air Corps serving during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945. Leroy worked for most of his life at Pozorski Hauling and retired in 1985 from the Manitowoc Public School System. On January 14, 1966 he married the former Kathryn Stevens in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on March 6, 2015. He was a member of Drews-Bleser American Legion Post #706 both of Manitowoc.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Steven (Lori) Holtz, Manitowoc; one son-in-law, Tony (Karen) Ruelle, Two Rivers; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Hofslund, Manitowoc; one nephew, Allan Titus, Manitowoc; one niece, Loretta Kloida, Manitowoc; other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Ida Dorey, his wife, Kathryn Dorey; one daughter, Kathryn Basler; one brother, James Dorey, one great great grandchild.
According to Leroy's wishes no funeral services will be held. Entombment of his cremated remains will take place at the Knollwood Mausoleum.
The Reinbold and Pfeffer Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family with arrangements.
