US Congressman. He was an ironmaster in Caernarvon Township, Pennsylvania and a member of the State House of Representatives in 1804 and 1805. In 1807, he was elected as a Federalist to the Tenth and Eleventh Congresses, serving until 1811. After his term, he was member of a Group of Horse and took an active part in suppressing the Whisky Insurrection in Pennsylvania.
