Lucy was the beloved "ferret daughter" of findagrave contributor Frank Russo. She was part of a trio of fur babies we "rescued" from the old Animals & Things in Woodbridge. Lucy was a tough girl who had no problem learning her name and and coming when called. She loved to climb her cage to scope out the scene, and loved being outside, where she could put her nose in the air and take in all of the scents and sounds of nature. I was especially close to Lucy, who would often "smooch" with me when she wasn't happily running and playing with her brothers and sisters. She was especially easy to take care of, and was always low maintenance, especially during "Spa Nights", when she had her nails clipped and was given a bath. Lucy really got along well with her other brothers and sisters and did enjoy being around people, and especially loved her "ferret treats". She started losing weight in the late winter of 2019, though she still remained her typical self-reliant self. On the evening of Saturday, May 25th, we decided that it was time to help her cross over the "Rainbow Bridge" so she could be with her brothers and sisters. She passed away in the early morning hours of May 26th, as we held her in our arms. When she took her last breath, she sighed and opened her eyes, as if to say goodbye to us. She is now once again with reunited with her furbaby brothers and sisters in Heaven, including her brother and litter mate Harley (findagrave memorial 185725377) and sister and litter mate Olive (findagrave memorial 203100354) who both passed away in 2017. We will always remember Lucy for her spunk and sassiness and her independent ways. We Love You Lucy!
