Death of E C Graves -Edward Clayton Graves was born in Vermont, Illinois Feb 2nd 1857,died June 12th 1917, aged 60 years 3 months and ten days. He came with the family to Johnson county Kansas in 1859 and later to Woodson county and the western counties of Kansas where he grew to manhood. In 1886 he was united in marriage with Miss Ella Crawford To them were born nine children. Mr Graves made the race in the opening of the Strip and located on the farm northwest of Morrison where he has since lived Mrs Graves died April 23 1909. Mr Graves was again united in marriage to Mrs Frances Longan March 22 1913. Two children were born. The widow and ten children survive, also two brothers Judge Geo T Graves of Cleveland Okla and John W Graves of Bonanza Wyoming. A good man a kind neighbor and friend he will be missed. In early life Mr Graves was a devout member of the M E church but after coming to this state he espoused the Adventist faith of which he was a prominent factor. Funeral services were held on Wednesday of this week at 4 p m at the Baptist church conducted by Rev D F Sturgeon of Enid Interment in Morrison cemetery
