Fayette County - MONROSE TRITT AKIN, 81, longtime resident of the Bethlehem /Hebron Community oF Fayette County and wife of the late Jack Akin, died June 28, 2007 at her residence. Services will be at 12 Noon Saturday at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with interment in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be at 10 a.m.- 12 Noon, Saturday at the Peebles Main Chapel. Mrs. Akin was associated with her family in the operation of the family farm and was a devoted member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church. Survived by six children, 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. MONROSE TRITT AKIN, a longtime resident of the Bethlehem/Hebron Community of Fayette County and wife of the late Jack Akin, died at 3:12 AM Thursday, June 28, 2007 at her residence. She was 81 years of age.
Funeral services for Mrs. Akin were conducted at 12 noon Saturday, June 30th at he Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Ann Bledsoe, pastor of the Shiloh United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in the Shiloh Cemetery. Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home – Main Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Akin was born October 16, 1925 in Crockett Mills, Tenn., the daughter of the late William Aubon Tritt and the late Lucy Spry Tritt. She was married November 15, 1943 to Jack Akin, a World War II Army Veteran and retired Fayette County farmer and landowner who died July 15, 1991.
Mrs. Akin is survived by two daughters, Lisa Perry of Brighton, TN and Angie Turner of Somerville, four sons, Ronnie Akin of Union City, TN, Bill Akin of Jackson, TN, Mike Akin of West Helena, AR, and Lee Akin of Somerville, eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
